A premier visual arts and entertainment center features a variety of artists year
round, including local, regional and nationally known artists. A visit to the gallery
is free, open to the public. You may also enjoy many performing arts events
throughout the year when we host regionally and nationally acclaimed performing
artists. The Monument Children’s Theatre also performs twice a year for the public.

Theatre West Summer Repertoire is located on the campus of Western Nebraska
Community College and has been bringing professional productions to the valley
for nearly 20 years. Each summer the company brings 3 productions known for
their professional quality and entertainment. Professional directors, designers and
actors from across the United states as well as talented musicians, actors and
singers from our own community, three productions and 24 performances,
seasonally and enhanced sound through quality body microphone systems.
Choice reserved seating to productions with season tickets and/or advanced
individual tickets. Handicapped accessible. They also provide TOFY camp for

The elegant Midwest Theater is the last of three “grand theaters’ which were built
in the Scottsbluff/Gering are. The theater, which seats 700 people, is on the”
National Register of Historic Places. There are no straight lines in the building’s
interior design and some of the original carpeting and seating from 146 remains in
the balcony. Floral sculptures accenting the stage are still breathtaking examples
of the Art Modern Style. It is a primary gathering place for events ranging from
classic and second-run movies, to concerts, live theatre, speakers, church services,
televised Husker games, dance performances, class reunions, and wedding
receptions. The local library, Boy and Girl Scout troops, service organizations,
artists, teachers, and historians are some of the groups that regularly use the facility.

The scenic 3,000 seat Five Rocks Amphitheater and Pavilion houses bands and
other open air entertainment in the summer months, featuring a series of jazz,
blues, country and rock performances. Thursday nights in the summer present
“Movies at the Rocks” showing full-lenth, new release and classic favorite feature
films. Tickets for Five Rocks Events are available at the City of Gering Offices.
