As the most comprehensive health care facility throughtout the expansive high
plains of western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming, Regional West Medical Center
offers specialized care that far exceed expectations for a rural hospital-in fact,
care that rivals many urban medical centers.
Working in partnership with over 100 active physicians, 95 percent of whom are
board certified or board eligible, as well as dozens of consulting specialists, Regional
West offers comprehensive cancer care, neurosurgery, acute rehabilitation, 
bariatric surgery, behavioral health care and many other advanced services.
Founded as community hospital in 1924, Regional West has grown by developing
new and expanded services that allow patients to receive the care they need
close to home. Today, as one of three Level II Trauma Centers in the state,
Regional West provides 24-hour emergency and trauma care over a vast 150-mile
radius.
The medical center offers two medical residency programs through the University
of Nebraska Medical Center-family practice and emergency medicine-and serves as
a clinical training site for many health professions. 
Licensed for 164 beds and staffed by more that 1,400 dedicated employees,
Regional West is accredited by the Joint Commission and has been recognized as
one of the country's 100 Most Wired rural hospitals.
